Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files containing a certain amount of information exchanged between a website and the user's terminal (usually the browser). They are primarily used to make websites work and operate more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the website. Cookies can be either session or persistent. Session cookies are stored on the user's terminal for a short period and are deleted as soon as the user closes the browser. Their use is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing of the site. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, remain stored on the user's terminal until a preset expiration date. These cookies, not being deleted directly when the browser is closed, allow remembering the user's choices on the website and collecting information about the pages visited by the user, the frequency with which the site is visited, and identifying the user's browsing path in order to improve the experience on the website. Session or persistent cookies can be first-party or third-party, depending on whether the entity that installs the cookies on the user's terminal is the same as the manager of the website being visited (in which case they are called first-party cookies) or a different entity (in which case they are called third-party cookies).
Types of Cookies:
- Technical Cookies: Technical cookies are used solely for "the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service" (cf. Article 122, paragraph 1, of the GDPR). They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website; analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect aggregated information about the number of users and how they visit the site; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate based on a set of selected criteria in order to improve the service provided to the user. The installation of such cookies does not require the prior consent of users, while the obligation to provide information under Article 13 of the GDPR remains in force, which the website operator, if they only use such devices, may provide in the manner they deem most appropriate.
- Profiling Cookies: Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during their online navigation. Due to their particular invasiveness in the private sphere of users, European and Italian regulations require users to be adequately informed about the use of such cookies and to express their valid consent. They are referred to in Article 122 of the GDPR, which provides that "the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contracting party or user or access to information already stored is allowed only on condition that the contracting party or user has given their consent after being informed in accordance with the simplified procedures referred to in Article 13, paragraph 3" (Article 122, paragraph 1, of the GDPR).
First-Party Cookies:
The website www.thux.it uses session technical cookies, strictly necessary for the use and navigation of its website. The use of these cookies is limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to enable safe and efficient browsing of the site. The session cookies used on this site avoid the use of other potentially prejudicial computer techniques for the confidentiality of user navigation and do not allow the acquisition of personally identifiable user data. No personal data of users is acquired by the website. No persistent cookies of any kind are used, nor are systems for tracking users.
Third-Party Cookies:
It is also reported that the website www.thux.it makes use of the functionalities offered by the Google Analytics service, which uses cookies to anonymously collect and analyze information about user usage behavior on websites. This information (including the user's IP address) is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it for the purpose of preparing reports on website activities. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data it possesses, nor does it attempt to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.
Cookie Management:
Users can decide whether to accept cookies or not by using their browser settings. Please note that disabling all or some technical cookies may compromise the optimal use of the site. Disabling "third-party" cookies does not affect navigation in any way. Settings can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Additionally, browsers allow you to define different settings for "first-party" and "third-party" cookies. Documentation on how to set cookie management rules for your browser can be easily found on the internet. Here are some addresses related to the main browsers:
